Her Approach to Art Therapy
Art therapy offers a gentle, non-verbal pathway to explore deep personal issues without the need to retell stories or relive trauma. Vaish uses art as a tool to place choice and control back into the hands of her clients, allowing them to navigate their own unique journey of discovery and recovery.

Her approach is person-centred, tailoring each session to the specific needs of the individual. She integrates a variety of art materials and techniques to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely express their thoughts and emotions. My Story

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I found immense joy and peace in creating—whether it was knitting, painting, or crafting. It was my little world where I could express myself freely and feel a sense of calm amidst life’s challenges. Little did I know that this creative outlet would one day become the foundation of my career and my passion.
My journey began in the software industry, where I worked as a professional for several years. While I enjoyed the problem-solving aspects of my work, I witnessed firsthand the immense stress and pressures that come with such a fast-paced environment. At the same time, I was navigating the beautiful but challenging journey of motherhood, raising two wonderful children and learning the delicate balance of guiding them while also managing my own well-being.
It was during these years that I realized the profound role art played in my life. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was my anchor. Whether I was overwhelmed with work or grappling with the demands of parenthood, art gave me a space to pause, reflect, and process my emotions. It became my way of healing, of finding clarity, and of reconnecting with myself.
This realization ignited a deep desire within me to share this transformative power of art with others. I made the bold decision to step away from my career in the software industry and fully embrace my passion for art and my aspiration to support others in their healing journeys.
I pursued my dream of becoming an art therapist by enrolling in the Master’s program at the Miecat Institute in Melbourne. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to merge my love for art with my desire to make a meaningful impact on the community.
Throughout my life, I’ve always believed in giving back, and volunteering has been a constant part of my journey. From community projects to individual support, I’ve seen how acts of service can create ripples of positivity and change. Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of working with CATA (Creative Arts Therapy Australia), where I facilitated both one-on-one sessions and group programs, helping clients express themselves and explore their inner worlds through art.
I’ve also worked as an assistant to a painting therapist at the Dandenong Ranges Steiner School, where I witnessed how art, especially painting, helps children communicate emotions they may not have words for. Seeing children connect with their inner selves through art reaffirmed my belief in its profound power to heal and nurture.
Today, as both an art therapist and a mother, I bring my personal experiences, professional knowledge, and passion for creativity into every session I facilitate. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where individuals can explore their emotions, find balance, and discover their strengths through art.
Art has transformed my life, and it is my greatest joy to share this journey with others, helping them find their own paths to healing and self-discovery.
